Primitive cultures were largely influence by the stars. There was not contamination of any kind, which allow ancient civilizations to see the stars in all their magnitude, being able to ‘read’ them. Lately, they have been a great source of inspiration for people, among them, writers and poets. That´s why the next light installation ‘Culture’ will have place outside the Writer´s museum next to the Royal Mile on Wednesday 3rd of april after sunset.
‘Post its’ will be given to people to write what the famous quotes written on the floor inspire them, and invite them to add new ones. After that, every thought will be lighted up next to the quote that inspired it. The more participation, the more similar to a dark sky full of stars will seem the space, where artificial light will have the change of giving back that inspiration that nowadays is impossible to reach.
